Ok James I misread your reply, but I guess we are on the same page on
this issue. One other thing that happened in Broward County FL when they
did the rebanding they also shuffled almost every talk group (at least
for PD) to either a new ID or new name. When I inquired to members of
the Florida group as to why, the general feeling was because every radio
either has to be re-programmed or new, then that is the time to do any
house cleaning or whatever to your radio system? Hopefully they won't do
that in Montgomery County.

>> Doug, do some more reading. 800 MHz rebanding has been in the news for
years. The first phase is moving systems (frequencies) out of the 851 to 853
MHz spectrum. So systems that currently operate from 851 to 860 MHz are
getting shuffled to 854 to 860 MHz. They get put into available frequencies
that will not cause any loss of capabilities. Then the systems that operate
in the 866 to 868 MHz range will get picked up and moved 15 MHz down to take
over the vacated spectrum. NEXTEL is coordinating license moves. It is a
nationwide plan that is easily googled. 15 MHz is correct.

suspect the original information given below is incorrect. I looked up the
current control channels of the Montgomery County system and they were:

but a check of the FCC database reveals no licenses for those frequencies

which would be not 15, but _45_ MHz lower than the current control
frequencies... so I suspect that the new control channel frequencies will
be:
