>>The Montgomery County Police Department has begun the marking of new patrol vehicles with newly designed graphics. The new logo surrounds the vehicle with 3M reflective material, which makes each patrol unit more visible in the day or night, and therefore increases safety.  The new graphic design also allows for a reduction in the cost of marking each patrol vehicle. The cost savings are realized due to the fact that one set of graphics can be deployed on any of the Ford Crown Victorias, Dodge Chargers, or Chevrolet Caprices the department uses as patrol vehicles. The previous graphic design required different templates for each model patrol vehicle.
>>
>>            In November, the first six patrol cars were marked and placed into service. In the next six months, approximately 50 new patrol vehicles will be placed into service with the new, safer, and more cost efficient design markings.  The transformation of the entire police fleet will take several years. The process of placing the new design on patrol cars will occur as marked cars are decommissioned and new vehicles are placed into service.
>>
>>            Photographs of the new police vehicle graphics are available on our Facebook page (Montgomery County Police Department Official).
