[Scan-DC] Unit 5 Update

Didn't have a chance to give any updates yesterday - way too crazy. Currently relaxing for a few more minutes in a Holiday Inn at Virginia Tech; go back on duty at noon.

Yesterday on the way in to work the news broke about the shooting. As soon as I hit the door at 2 I transferred to the satellite truck (Unit 9) and hauled ass South with Ken Molestina to Blacksburg. Two other shooters and another reporter came before us.

We hit town just before 8pm, caught an impromptu candlelight vigil and shot it for 11p news. Then we hooked up with the other crews and everyone edited until 11 when wewent live with 2 reporters then packed it in.

Today it's more of the same; will be live in the early shows and at 11, then likely drive the 5 hours back to DC.

Off Saturday, back on Sunday.

Will update if I can, not likely.
