[Scan-DC] montgomery fire "disregard your alerts"

It struck me the other day that Montgomery Fire dispatch frequently puts out a lot of pager tones on VHF, then dispatches a call, but finishes up the announcement by telling one or more units that they can disregard their alert... is this on the increase, or have I just not noticed it before, or what?  I haven't been to "headquarters" in many years (since they were in the bomb shelter of the county office building), but methinks that the computer-aided dispatch may be a little... dumb?
