[Scan-DC] Antenna for the

I can't speak directly to the HomePatrol, but I never had a problem running
the Pro96 or the 396XT on the RS800 duck sitting on the inside windowsill.
Prior to my retirement last year, I worked on the 3rd floor inside of
MPD-HQ, and always seemed to have an office that was on the inside of the
"square" :(. If you are not familiar with HQ, it is a six story square
building that has a totally enclosed courtyard. The problem with reception
on the "inside" offices is that there is no real line of sight since you are
looking at three other walls of solid concrete and inside windows. With
that said, I never had problems receiving DC (of course), the closer PG
districts (prior to the trunked system), Mogo, Arlington, Alexandria,
Fairfax, and DCA/IAD trunk (I'm sure it was the DCA site). I could also
occasionally get the Charles Co trunk.

Anyone on the list have a recommendation for antenna to use with the
HomePatrol that's located inside an office building in downtown DC? (We can
mount the antenna at a window, but it has to be inside). The attached
antenna doesn't receive much, other than the 800 mHz DCFEMS TGs plus USPP
and USCP on VHF.

Thanks,

Ed
