[Scan-DC] MPD encrypting Sept. 15, 2011

I remember back in the early days of digital,  many of the systems that 
tried encryption didn't stick w/ it.  Not sure what type of problems they 
ran into.

The day of reckoning may finally be coming.

A police friend tells me that an MPD teletype says that Sept. 15 is the 
planned cut-over date for MPD to encrypt its primary channels.
