[Scan-DC] Aircraft

That was about the right time that I heard the aircraft. The best way to
describe what I heard is a large-ish prop plane or a very
"smooth"-sounding helicopter.

I'm a bit of a lurker on this list, but will contribute what little I
can to the low flying aircraft item.  Having been evacuated from my
building in Crystal City, I was standing on Crystal Drive at about 2:30
when a gray prop plane (can't identify, not my area of specialty - like
an awac but didn't see any big discs on it)  flew east to west (south to
north) seeming to follow the Potomac.  At first I wondered if it had
taken off from DCA, but soon after saw a Delta Jet take off and realized
the flight pattern was different.   Was it following the river or had it
just come from Andrews?
