Of interest is the EAS/SAME NOAA weather radio alerts appear color coded on
a grid while in effect and there are 4 sources of warnings to avoid a
single point of failure (NWR, NWS Digital Text Alerts (cap 1.2), Warnings
overlaid onto the radar and current warnings for Vienna, VA as part of the
graphical forecast).

There is a lightning detector as well as lightning overlaid on the radar.

There is a ongoing set of graphic weather and there is streaming NWR.

The NWS uses these sites to verify their warning systems are operational.

This works on computers and on many smart phones.

Also, there is a forecast finder for anywhere in the US. Take the url and
place it in the bookmark of your browser on your cell phone and you will
have instant weather on your cell phone.

Enjoy.

(Editorial - I have yet to see a redesign by any of the media outlets
around here that was better than its predecessor - would be interested to
discuss this off-list!) Parameters required: Must work with Firefox, large
screen for easy viewing, loop or motion, easy-to-discern legend, and as
little delay as possible. Thanks!

I'm partial to wunderground.org.
