Thanks, Bob - yeah, this started out as nothing unusual, but turned out to be a biggie... I was lucky to happen to catch it as it escalated.

My "gal pal" lives not far from there, I was on the way home from her place when this began to unfold.  There was some PD activity at Eastern Jr. High when I went by there at around 2245, but not sure if it was related.  This thing took off shortly after 2300, but I must have dropped off to sleep, never heard how it finished up.  Woke up later on with indigestion and heard the wreck referred to in the other posts, but this thing seems to have been over at that point.

I think one of the other guys here on Scan-DC lives in the same neighborhood, will see if he joins in later!
