[Scan-DC] Bluetooth

Dewey & all:
I bought a Bluetooth transmitter to go with my earpiece (Jabra)
several years ago (about $49 if memory is correct), so I could
conceivably use it with my phone and the scanner. It worked well
enough, but every time the current transmissions ended, the
Bluetooth would shut down, thinking the call had ended.
There was supposed to be a way of setting the transmitter to
send continuously, so every transmission would be sent, but I
never did get it to work, and if it did, it would probably kill
the battery fairly quickly anyway.

This has been a big on and off discussion over on RR and a couple
of the
other listservs. The bottom line and consensus is that if you
want
bluetooth, you should get one of the portable bluetooth
transmitters out
there, and just run it from your earphone jack. I still want to
do it, but
just have other priorities in front of buying a bluetooth
transmitter
($30-$75).
