Hi Bill,
In my neck of the woods low frequency HF has been hard hit by the compact
fluorescent bulbs. A computer or a compact fluorescent can ruin your
listening day.
May you listen well 'n often -
R.

Subject: Re: [Scan-DC] Russian Numbers station broadcasting spike
I'm clearing out old posts. Maybe I asked about this already and forgot.
What's the point of AM suppressed lower sideband? You still have to waste
power on sending the carrier? The bandwidth is narrower, but why not just
send USB? Are listeners not able to provide synchronous detection?
Maybe there is no explanation. Thanks.
Sidebar: When I try to hear Alex Jones at about midnight on 4840kHz, the
band is covered with noise. The radio in question is a mid-60s Sony
multiband TFM-1000W in serious need of alignment, so maybe it's just me.
