Robbery of a Silver Spring Radio Shack
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Robbery
Section are investigating the armed robbery of a Radio Shack electronics
store in Silver Spring.
Last night at approximately 5:22 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to
the Radio Shack, located at 8213 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, for the
report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The preliminary
investigation revealed that an unknown male entered the store and posed as a
customer. The suspect told the employee that he wanted to purchase a
Playstation 3 gaming system. When the employee placed the Playstation box on
the counter, the suspect took it and attempted to run from the store. The
employee attempted to retrieve the Playstation, but not before the suspect
punched her and fled from the store.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his early to mid-20s, 5'09"
tall with a muscular build, short black hair, and braces on his lower teeth.
The suspect was wearing a black puffy Northface brand jacket, blue jeans,
and insulated winter gloves.
Anyone who may have information about this armed robbery and/or the suspect
responsible, is asked to call the Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section at

reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an
