[Scan-DC] Fairfax PD Mount Vernon

Steve, you didn't mention which scanner you were using. Yes, this has been
an anomaly with the "T" model Unidens... at least, that's how I remember it
being said (also remember that you have the scanner set to ignore status
bits if you are using a Uniden). I also remember hearing that the GREs do
not have this problem. Then finally, I can say that during patches, I know
that the XT is hearing things that the T does not hear, but I have not
actually confirmed that the XT is hearing all of the patches while the T is
only hearing the primary "patcher". I noticed this some time ago before the
XTs came out. Unfortunately, I don't think MPD does this any more (at least
I haven't heard it), but when a very serious event occurred, the zone
dispatchers would tell the units to stand by for a simulcast from the "x"D
Zone. During the simulated broadcasts which were really just patches, on
the "T"s, I could only hear the lookout (or anything during the patch) on
the zone initiating the patch. I used to also accurately predict this
during the night hours when 1D and Citywide 1 were combined. Next time I
know a patch is going on, I will put some concentrated effort into seeing
how the XT handles it.

I've noticed the anomaly too with patched talkgroups.

While the actual Motorola radios used by the public safety agencies
understand that talkgroup "A" is patched with talkgroup "B", apparently the
scanners only notice one of the pair. And it varies depending upon which
talkgroup was patched first.

Isn't Mount Vernon typically patched with Franconia? Try Franconia and see
if you hear Mount Vernon there.
