Not at all... I had been watching them and I can't remember how long they had been out at that time, but they were still at $499.99 regular price when my Mom and I left town on Dec 18 to go to Chicago for my niece's wedding. While we were gone, I think it was on 12/21, I discovered that the sale price was $200 off, or $299.99. Checked the stores near my sister's place and none of them had any stock - the sale was to end on 12/26 and I was coming home that day, so I ordered one online and had it shipped to my neighbor so I wouldn't miss out. This is the first time since then that they have gone as low as $299... sometime after Xmas '08 the original price dropped from $499 to $399, but the best sale price since then has been $349 unless I missed something.
All of the digitals were in the $500 range then so at $299 I figured I'd never do better. Still, tho, $300 is not a paltry sum! Hope you can swing one this year. They are more or less pre-programmed too - but if you (or anyone) get(s) one and need help with programming, get in touch.
