I agree!  Excellent receiver and you will not find anything easier to program.  Turn it on; enter your zip code; enter the range in miles for the desired listening area; done!!!

Programming is intuitive and can be done from the touch screen and/or a Windows PC.  The HP-1 optionally will use a GPS for location input...great for travel or if you live in a location with numerous local agencies.

Given all the various units in the marketplace right now I would recommend 
the new uniden HP-1. It is about the most friendly for user and programmer, 
and can be updated on a regular basis easily without a lot of fuss.
