[Scan-DC] Vsp trooper in 10-50, citizen using radio

It was interesting that the dispatcher, when having trouble copying the
citizen, told him to hold the mic button in for three seconds before
speaking. Wow -- is that standard? Three seconds?? Can you imagine a
trooper being shot at, and radioing in for backup -- "one Mississippi,
Two Mississippi, three Mississippi, hey folks, I'm being shot at..."

I also monitored the citizen using the state radio. After the VSP
dispatcher
could not get the citizen to give any more information, I believe the
citizen originally reported that he was with an injured trooper, the
dispatcher dispatched approximately 10 troopers from various counties to

respond. After a few minutes I also started monitoring Fauquier Sheriff
system and they had multiple deputies and Fire & EMS responding. I
believe
the trooper involved was 1198 or a number similar to that or near that.
I
heard Fauquier EMS advise that the trooper had been momentarily
unconscious,
probably when the citizen was using his radio. I also believe this may
have
been in part to a motorcycle pursuit or the trooper could have been
responding to a report of a possible suicidal subject threatening to
jump
off a bridge, I assume on I-95 near Fredericksburg since just minutes
before
this incident the same dispatcher had dispatched several troopers to
that
call. I do not normally monitor Fauquier or the troopers that work
Fauquier
or Stafford area, however on this particular day I had not locked them
out
like I normally do. What caught my attention was the citizen talking
because
I immediately could tell it was not a trooper talking.

With all of that said I have absolutely no idea why VSP would not
confirm
what we heard. I am sure there is a reason but I guess we will never
know
what that reason is.

Wouldn't be

news
