Hi folks,
Pardon the commercial interruption.
I bought an unblocked 150 kHz - 3305 MHz ICOM R20 in Akhibara when I was on
a business trip to Tokyo in May. However, now I want to acquire one of the
new Uniden HomePatrol scanners, so I am going to put the R20 up for sale.
It's going up on eBay on Thursday evening (9/9). If anyone here is
interested, please contact me off-list before then.
The radio is in excellent condition (I hate the term "like new," but it fits
in this case). It comes will all included accessories. The manual is in
Japanese (you can download the English version on the ICOM Web site). The
wall adapter is listed as 100 V (not 110/120 V like in U.S.), but the
Japanese plug is identical to the U.S. plug, and I have been using the
charger here in the U.S. to charge the included battery pack, and it works
perfectly (yes, my fingers were crossed the first time I tried it).
The package includes the CS-R20 software (in English), which was also
acquired in Tokyo. The software package comes with the USB programming
cable.
The radio, software, and cable are working perfectly, no issues at all, and
I will guarantee that they arrive that way. The radio is clean with hardly
any evidence of use.
The new price for a government unblocked scanner alone is $550 at Universal
Radio. The software is another $66 ($615 total). I'm asking $490 for both,
and I'll pay for Priority Mail shipping to anywhere in the U.S. I prefer
Paypal, but will also take a money order. For those in the D.C. metro area,
I am available to meet up in person in Arlington (or at least not too far
from there).
Thanks for reading, and we now return you to your regularly scheduled
programming...
Andy
