[Scan-DC] home patrol scanner?

Simplicity is good. Not that I can't program my own scanner, but time is
always an issue, especially when I travel. If I can get a grab-and-go
scanner that will program itself for whatever area I happen to be in, that
would be great. I'll definitely investigate this scanner once it's available
for sale.
How about an office pool for the MSRP? I'll bet $599.
