County Residents Are Invited

to Celebrate Telecommunicator Day!

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA . . . The annual Public Safety

Communications Telecommunicator Day, hosted by the Prince William County

Office of Public Safety Communications, is Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 2

p.m. at the Sean T. Connaughton Community Plaza. The Plaza is between the

McCoart Building and the County's Development Services Building on the

Prince William Parkway.

Activities include:

. 911 center open house,

. a 911 simulator,

. demonstrations of Police and Fire & Rescue equipment,

. Red Cross response vehicle,

. the Police Department's Horse Mounted Patrol Unit and K-9 Unit,

. child fingerprinting by the County Sheriff's Office

. McGruff the Crime Dog and Sparky the Fire Dog,

. Animal Shelter Petting Farm,

. face painting and bag toss,

. a DJ for your music pleasure, and

. child seat safety checks.

The event is free and open to the public. From 1 to 2 p.m., officials from the

Police and Fire & Rescue departments - which jointly administer Public Safety

Communications - will present the "Make the Right Call" Award to this year's

recipients.

So bring your family and friends for an interesting and informative look at how

emergency calls are processed in Prince William County!
