Hi Doug,

Laurel PD has at least one car. I've also seen one MSP cruiser with them
too.

The mountings on the ones I saw were pretty rough on the car - metal pylons
bolted into the rear quarter panel. Ouch - hard on the resale value!

In the past, We've had some discussion here about license plate scanners -
today I was able to snap a picture of a Takoma Park MD police car that was
so equipped...

It surprised me a bit because the city of Takoma Park is not a large
jurisdiction by any means - yet I haven't seen a Montgomery County or
Maryland State Police car with a license plate scanning system.
