[Scan-DC] Montgomery Fire Station 34?

Correct, it is not yet open.  You will see apparatus with that number on it, think E734 is running out of one of the Germantown stations.

For those who may not be aware, both Sta 22 (vicinity Rt. 118 & Rt. 117, ie Germantown Road and Clopper Road) and Sta 34 (355 and Boland Farm, as someone mentioned) will be Montgomery  County stations, as opposed to Station 29, the Germantown VFD coroporation.

Station 35 in Clarksburg is also a county station and not affiliated with one of the volunteer fire corporations.

Someone else may be able to explain it better, but that's the gist of it.

The current fire on Brookridge Court is in Montgomery Village, just off Montgomery Village Avenue at the "back end", about 3 miles from Station 8... interesting that this will now be 34's first due when it opens... Station 34's address is 20633 Boland Farm Road, Germantown - 8s is 801 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg.  I just did routes from both stations to an address on Brookridge Court - distance from 34 is 3.08 miles per yahoo... from 8 it's 3.15 miles!
