no, the ff's and cops I talked to said they couldnt comment about it, but I didnt get any vibes/sense that it was really bad.

I didnt get to monitor any of it - was out shopping. Ironically, a resident in the adjacent apt building said he found out about the fire when he heard the call on his scanner.....

looks like 9-12 apartment units have been evacuated, dont know how many residents although I did see one getting police assistance as he removed a sizable quantity of firearms and ammunition. :)

The water running out of the apartment and those below sounds like a shower running.

Do you have anything further on the FF condition? that particular fire went to 2nd alarm.

surprised this hasnt been on the list - but there was apartment fire in Fairfax County next to Fair Oaks mall this evening with an firefighter that apparently fell through a floor - across the street from my apt as it were.

Huge turn out of apparatus- about 20 pieces plus I saw two army green "jeeps" I guess they were - something like a Viet Nam era vehicle - they definitely werent humvees (very distinct). I am guessing they were something from the VANG?

Talking with one of the fire-techs after the hoopla he stated how excellently the residents responded and helped by digging out a hydrant. All were buried under snow from the plows. He pointed to the burned out apt and said "that what you get that when you have that" pointing to the closest hydrant under an 8ft x 8ft x 6ft covering of snow.

so, dig them out - wherever they are.
