I finally got so infuriated at the alarmist anchorpeople on TV last night
that I put on several layers and went out into the snow. I walked up to
the nearest Safeway. It was wide open. The shelves were full of food, and
there was hardly anybody there. You could have taken all the time you
wanted and, when done, not waited in any line whatsoever.

The power was off this morning, but it's back. I'm watching "Russia
Today" on channel 4.3. Today's show is about Murmansk. The narrator says
that because Murmansk is such a young city, only about 90 years old, that
it is not attractive. All the buildings there are that bare Soviet-style.


It looks a lot like the western part of Alexandria along Duke Street,
except Murmansk has less snow.
