Maybe the MSP is controlling access to the Parkway, rather than the entire Beltway?

Annapolis

I heard something earlier, maybe on a Montgomery County police channel, about some sort of activity that would close the beltway between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. today... just heard the MSP Rockville dispatcher call a unit and say that VA state police had inquired if MD had anything working on the beltway because the traffic was backing up into VA - I think the reply was "it's us, traffic is getting heavy, they're watching us, we'll turn out our lights and see if that helps".
