***Weather and Services Advisory***  

Possible Flooding in the District Forecasted for Evening and  Overnight  
Residents Reminded to Clear Catch Basins and Drains   
Call 311 for Fallen Branches, Limbs, or Trees  

The National Weather Service is forecasting signficant rainfall throughout  
the District Sunday evening and continuing overnight.  Up to three inches  
of rain could fall in the city and throughout the region.  The District  
Department of Transportation (DDOT) along with the DC Homeland Security and  
Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) want to remind residents to clear catch  
basins and to check and clear drains in and around residences.  In  addition, 
avoid standing water as flash flooding may occur and to remind  motorists 
to please drive with caution.  Do not attempt to drive through  possible 
flooded streets or intersections but detour around instead.   

DDOT also wants to remind residents to phone the Mayor's  Call Center at 
311 for downed limbs, branches or trees that have fallen.   Having a specific 
address including number and street with the correct  quadrant is extremely 
helpful in expediting the requests.  If traffic  signals are temporarily out 
or in flashing mode the intersection should be  treated as a four-way stop. 
 

Utility outages should  be reported directly to the utilities at these 
emergency numbers:  1)  Pepco - 1-877-PEPCO-62, 2) Verizon - 1-800-275-2355, 3) 
WASA - 202-612-3400,  4) Washington Gas - 1-800-752-7520.
