UPman is the Uniden Product Rep. In fact, IMHO only, UPman probably is
short for **U**niden **P**roduct **Man**ager. As far as asking, I would bet
that you will get the standard canned response that they, Uniden, can't talk
about their future. The only thing else that I can say is that I sure hope
that it can be a firmware upgrade, and not another scanner. While I have a
sincere appreciation for the majority of Uniden's scanners, their marketing
is the WORST to me. Look at their upgrade history. All of the below
upgrades are VERY SIMILAR to the x96T -> x96XT upgrades. What I mean is
that the upgraded product looks VERY MUCH like it predecessor, probably was
known ahead of time, and would have been A LOT more customer friendly is
returning customers were somehow rewarded:
BC235XLT -> BC245XLT: major upgrade point, the 245 could trunk track and
scan conventional systems at the same time.
BC250D -> BC296D (and mobile versions): major upgrade point, was that the
296 could track 9600 baud control channels.
BCDx96T -> BCDx96XT -> we all know the story here.
***If*** FDMA/TDMA system are scanner trackable in the future, do not be
surprised to see Uniden jump on the band wagon with a quick release, only to
come out with a "better" product in the same package a year later. Just my
opinion.

I wonder if anyone has asked UPman who is the Uniden product rep.? He may
have an idea if they are pursuing this.
