Amtrak Police often step up when POTUS or other VIPs are in the Capitol or congressional office buildings. Our Vice President is also known to take the Acela on occasion.

I've hung out on the platform once or twice in recent memory. I did  
not get approached by anyone. I was actually surprised because you're  
not supposed to be there if you aren't a passenger. I was picking  
someone up.
