Is CIA part of DOD? (Answering own question...) Apparently not, as I just copied this from their website:
"Mission
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is an independent US Government
agency responsible for providing national security intelligence to
senior US policymakers."
What I was wondering is, shouldn't there just be a DOD Security outfit that would have those duties for all the DOD agencies / facilities (e.g. NSA).
Good luck, Mister Phelps.

>> The reason for the vague name is that many people might freak out if they thought that there was a 'CIA Police' agency, thinking that such an agency was involved in domestic policing of the general populace, as opposed to protecting CIA facilities.
