WHCA is of course still around - its a unit of Defense Information Systems Agency.  To get a detail to WHCA one has to be current military with a TS clearance and pass a YW background investigation.    

 

but for the rest of us DISA has about 6,800 civilian positions most of which do not require such an extensive background investigation, so its possible to get close.....   :)
