[Scan-DC] PRO-197 & PRO-106 on sale

Yeah, I've been wondering about that (inventory) - in fact, the RS website shows that the -197 is out of stock online... but both of those scanners were on sale for $100 off at Labor Day as well, which is what made me think to try and remember to check around every holiday.  With any luck they will give us a Christmas present, I hope!  I do prefer the method with which the Uniden radios are programmed (I use the BuTel software for both Uniden and RS) but I'm really pleased with the audio quality and general performance of the -197.  In the case of the Radio Shack ones, money talks, even though you have to buy a programming cable separately.  I think one would be hard-pressed to find $200 off on any of the Unidens or GREs.  $300 for a digital scanner is a screaming deal.  I just hope the technology doesn't change again!  But most of the local entities have a lot of bucks invested in their current ("new") systems, so I would think they will stay with them for awhile.
