I went over there at noon. http://www.solardecathlon.org

I saw someone wearing an orange "Visitor Liaison" t-shirt and holding a
Motorola Radius CP200 radio if he knew what frequencies were in use. He
directed me to a trailer at the west end of the Decathlon. It has a
telescoping antenna. On the side it says Special Event Production, Inc.,
Clemmons NC, 800-327-2352, sep-sports.com. The door was open, and I
talked to the guy inside. What he does is handle RF data for the signs at
the exhibit. They look like those highway signs that can be opened up and
hacked to make the display say what you want, not what the highway
department wants. He has nothing to do with the Motorola radios. My guess
is that the usual Department of Energy frequencies are in use. I didn't
take a scanner with me (why not?) and I don't have a digital scanner
anyway.

Even an hour after the exhibit opened, the lines stretched around the
buildings. There were swarms of middle school kids there today. This
exhibit is definitely worth a visit.

Best wishes.
