                 Detectives
from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division =96 Homicide/Sex
Section are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Montgomery Village
man that occurred this morning in Montgomery Village.=20

Today at
approximately 2:04 a.m.=2C 6th District officers and Fire/Rescue
personnel responded to the 20100 block of Wellbeck Terrace in
Montgomery Village for the report of an injured person. The victim=2C
suffering from an apparent gunshot wound=2C was in one of the bedrooms of
the residence. Despite life-saving efforts=2C he was pronounced dead at
the scene.=20

The victim has been identified as Emmanuel Anthony
Francis=2C 20 years old=2C of the 20100 block of Wellbeck Way in Montgomery
Village.=20

The preliminary investigation revealed that the
victim came to the home to visit a friend. A firearm discharged=2C
striking the victim. The circumstances that caused the discharge remain
under investigation. An autopsy will be performed by the Medical
Examiner=92s Office in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of
death.=20
