More than 30 days after the DTV transition, and after the July 12th
expiration of the "analog nightlight" program, the following four channels
are still broadcasting analog TV in DC, as monitored here in Arlington. They
are "Low Power" and "Class A" stations, which aren't required to transition
to digital (yet):
o Channel 6, Hispanic, audio frequency 87.75 MHz (WDCN, Low Power, Fairfax,
licensed for 3 kW)
o Channel 23, religious, audio frequency 529.75 MHz (WDDN, Low Power, DC,
licensed for 150 kW ERP)
o Channel 25, Hispanic, audio frequency 541.75 MHz (WZDC, Class A, DC,
licensed for 29 kW ERP)
o Channel 47, Hispanic, audio frequency 673.75 MHz (WMDO, Class A, DC;
licensed for 16.5 kW ERP)
The channel 6 station plays music almost full time, which means they are
likely trying to be an FM broadcast station in disguise, since their audio
signal is tunable by many FM radios.
Cheers!
Andy
