Good question... I have no idea where that came from - it doesn't seem to have been in the earlier msgs from what I can determine.  WAs it in the subject line of the msg you received?  I'm using hotmail with Firefox, and hotmail being a Microsoft relative, it sometimes gets crabby if it's not used with Internet Explorer... could have been that...
