In the summer of 1974, when I was at NAS Patuxent River, I was able to
hear some FM station in Missouri or thereabouts, in the middle of the
day, broadcasting a Kansas City Royals game. It would fade in and out,
but when it came it, reception was great. This was on a Heathkit AR-15
receiver, with a dipole antenna. I was on the first floor.

You can take the test for free in Alexandria, courtesy of the Mount
Vernon Amateur Radio Club. Or, at least it use to be free. Just get the
Radio Shack book, "Now You're Talking," and download the question pool.
I'm still steamed I missed one on the test.
