Anyone remember Poly-Paks? I wish they were still around.
Topic for discussion: Shared an office once with a guy who had worked in a big hobby shop in Waldorf (Doug's - I have no idea if it's still around); they specialized in radio control stuff, and I think, RC cars within that. This was in the 1980s, not long after stuff like PacMan and Pong and the other electronic games started coming out. The hobby industry (and also the electronics hobby industry) was going down the chute at the time and this guy's theory of the reason for that was that the electronic games and arcades offered "instant gratification"; that you could stick a quarter in an arcade game and amuse yourself for 30 mins or so (or whatever), rather than spending hours/days building a Heathkit (or a model of the Nautilus or an RC plane or something).
