[Scan-DC] Invitation to participate in Field Day this weekend

Field Day is the most popular on-the-air operating event in amateur 
radio.  During the fourth full weekend in June, tens of thousands of 
amateur radio operators gather for a public demonstration of our 
service.  Field Day is part educational event, part operating event, 
part public relations event, and ALL about having FUN!

If you're interesting in participating in Field Day, everyone is welcome 
to come and participate in MARC Field Day this weekend (June 27-28) at 
the Germantown Campus of Montgomery College.  We're located at the end 
of Observation Drive, near the "earth" water tower.  It is conveniently 
located near the MD-118 exit on I-270.  Here's a link to a map showing

It is also public-transit accessible via Metro (take Red Line to the 
Shady Grove station) and the Ride-On #55 bus which stops on campus.

Everyone is welcome to come out and participate.  There will be a GOTA 
(Get on the Air) station, so even those without an amateur license will 
have the opportunity to make contacts with the assistance of a control 
operator.

Field Day setup begins around 8:00 AM on Saturday, and operations go 
from 2:00 PM on Saturday until 2:00 PM on Sunday.  Talk-in information 
is available on the 146.955 repeater (+600 kHz offset, no PL tone). 
Feel free to spend a few hours or the whole weekend.
