As some of you may already know, I have been heavily involved in a project over on the RadioReference wiki website called 'collaboration'. Briefly put, this project is moving all the files, maps, 10 code lists, fire tone out and other information that is currently stored in the RadioReference database to the wiki. In this way, it is hoped that the membership will take a more active role in maintaining this data, rather than having to submit a ticket and depend on the DBA to get things changed.
Along these lines, in reviewing all the links we had on the CHM website, it became rather obvious that having 2 different sets of links for the same area, doing similar things, was both inefficient and redundant. So the CHM web page has been modified to serve as a portal into the RadioReference wiki, and the links formerly stored in the CHM website has been, for the most part, absorbed. The new page contains the regional links for each of the 4 areas the CHM covers, along with a host of hopefully useful topics to the membership at large, but most paticularly for the newcomers amongst us.
The advantage here is that the RadioReference membership can edit most of these pages and add (or change) content. You need only sign in with your RadioReference userid and password. If you have issues with signing in, please contact Lindsay Blanton at webmaster at radioreference.com , as I don't have access to the password servers. The main web page will remain the portal, and I can add or change links as we get some ideas of other things to add from the members at large (hint hint).
Each of the 4 regional pages has links to the MediaWiki help website which details most of the commands - it is different from coding a standard web page using HTML or Java in many ways. If you have questions about how to use the language, I've pretty much been self-taught with the Wiki markup language, and can likely give you a hand.
As always, the website URL is: http://henney.com/chm/
