OK, here's a more encouraging message regarding bringing scanners to the air
show from another Public Affairs official at Andrews...

Dave,
I saw SrA Polvino's answer to your question, and as my husband is a scanner
enthusiast, I wanted to follow up to make sure we gave you the best answer.
According to the Security Forces Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Lambert, you
are fine to bring in the scanners. It is not on the approved items list on
our website, www.jsoh.org, but it is not on the prohibited items either. If
any of the security folks checking bags before you get on the shuttle from
Fed Ex Field or Branch Ave metro give you any trouble about the scanners,
you can have them call their boss. Please keep in mind our other
restrictions and other than that, have a great time at the show.

Thanks,
Capt. Anna Carpenter

Are radio scanners ("police scanners") allowed at the JSOH?

Thank you,
