[Scan-DC] AIR INCIDENT

I'm so annoyed. I have been recording 129.45 MHz pretty much 24/7 for the
last several weeks, EXCEPT this afternoon. I had to reboot my PC earlier
today and forgot to restart Scanrec.
By the way, I have been tracking the distance over which I can hear the
airplanes at altitude. When I hear them on 129.45, I use a flight tracking
web site to see exactly where the plane is at that moment. I can get clear
signals from over 300 miles away when they are "at altitude" (30,000+ ft). I
have heard planes that are over Raleigh, and over the very southwestern tip
of Virginia (at 37,000 ft). This is just using a discone, 130' ft of RG-8,
and no pre-amp. I realize the planes are line-of-sight, but still, to get a
clear signal from 300 miles away is still quite cool.
Andy
