===>NOAA weather transmitters used to be marked on Pennsylvania highway maps.
Did Maryland maps show them too? I know Virginia maps did not have them.
Aren't there some weather frequencies that are not used near Canada?

The National Weather Service has done a great job of putting NOAA weather
radio RF coverage maps on the web:

Also, Industry Canada uses the same 7 US weather radio channels in addition
to the same EAS/SAME alerts:

>From its inception in 1977, the network has expanded to 183 sites across the
country, transmitting continuous weather information on 7 dedicated
frequencies on the VHF public service band. Now, fully 92% of Canadians can access a
Weatheradio signal, and recent technological advances have made it possible
for listeners to program radio receivers to deliver only certain types of
warnings for their specific locations.
The Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) operates the Weatheradio Canada
network. The majority of these stations broadcast on the VHF band to permit the
transmission of a 1050 Hz warning tone and SAME codes that will trigger a
Weatheradio receiver's internal alert system. These are broadcast ahead of a
warning message to activate Weatheradios upon receipt. Broadcast frequencies
include 162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525, and 162.550 MHz.
