Capital had DC-3s, DC-4s, Connies, the Viscounts, of course. Plans
existed for buying Vanguards, the bigger four-engine planes. They leased
a 720 right at the end for service to Florida.

Piedmont flew the YS-11, as you state. I used to see one on its approach
to the Charlottesville airport about 8 or 9 a.m. during 1968-69. It would
fly up Emmet Street headed north.

Back in the mid-90s, I lived in Vancouver WA and got to see the Evergreen
DC-8 leave PDX on several afternoons. Those were the days.
