[Scan-DC] Interesting Park Police Comm

Is the FBI still using VHF high (I'd assume they're probably encrypted, and
quite likely digital)? USPP (another federal law enforcement agency) is also
on VHF, so it wouldn't be too hard to just program in the USPP channels into
the FBI radio. Of course, this doesn't take the politics (egos and agency
authorizations) into account.

Anyone interested in going to the Fairfax County vehicle rally can go here -
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/rally/ . I went last year (as I'm sure many
others on this list did), and found it rather interesting. Having spoken to
someone in the OEM office, Howard County (MD) hopes to have their Command 17
(countywide command unit, operated by Howard County Fire's Office of
Emergency Management) there.

Doug

Yes, I'm familiar with Interoperability...just rare to hear it being used in

this way...It wasn't on an I-Call or anything like that, and the Park Police

and FBI both operate in the Federal Band, not 800mhz that I am aware of...It

was direct on their frequency....

What other direct access freq's do you think the FBI might have on their
radios? Montgomery County Police? Fairfax County Police? Just Federal
Agencies?

If anyone is going to the up-coming Homeland Security show, hosted by Ffx Co

I believe, perhaps they can take a look in one of their cars and report back

(yes, I know the comm van will have everything)?

and you can find Park Police as well as other federal frequencies here:
