[Scan-DC] Getting plowed at Dulles

Interesting listening overnight on the Washington Metro Airports trunked
system. Bunch of hard-working people out there keeping those four runways
and the spaghetti-nest of taxiways and crossovers cleared and
operational. One supervisor and her team were hard at work when I went to
bed and still at it when I got up this morning.

These are two-mile-long runways and they're wide. And there was quite a
lot of drifting. They had it operational on at least two runways by 7am.

The MWA system is hard to hear unless you are near one of the two airports
or near their mid-point repeater at Tysons Corner and the listening is
ordinarily dull unless there's an aircraft coming in with a problem. But
the plowing operations are impressive. Didn't hear anything from DCA, so I
guess their plows are on a separate system.
