[Scan-DC] Free Sams Photofax

I visited the local electronics part store in Northern VA and chatted
with the owner, as I'm a frequent customer.

He asked if I wanted a collection of free Sams Photofax manuals. I
declined, but though perhaps someone on the list would find them useful.

It's a large set - it fills 6 file cabinets (not drawers, 6 full
cabinets) and starts with late WW II vintage and ends in 2002 or so.
They may not be 100% complete, but should be close.

The deal is you have to pick them up at his shop, near Dulles Airport,
and you have to take all of them.

If no one picks them up, they will be trashed. He said that a Craig's
List got no serious responses.

Most of these are for TV sets, but in the early days Sams covered ham
gear and the owner confirmed that he recalls seeing some for
Hallicrafters and a few others in the files, along with VCRs and the like.

I hate to see these go into the landfill. I would have taken them but my
basement is at the point where I can scarcely move now.

The store is Dancon, telephone (703) 502-3900. It's located close to
Route 28 and Route 50, 5 miles or so south of Dulles Airport.

If you take them, please mention that I sent you and let me know they
are gone as I'll post this information on other groups I'm a member of
if no one here wants them.
