[Scan-DC] MWAA

About the most interesting thing I ever heard on the MWAA system was a few
years ago, I got pulled over on the toll road for going a bit too fast. I
was able to sit there and listen to myself being run over the air for
wants/warrants/drivers license info. In fact, when the officer came back to
the car to issue me my ticket a bunch of radio traffic came over his radio
and mine at the same time. I left mine turned up all the way, he tilted his
head slightly when he heard that, looked in the car at the Pro-96 mounted on
the center console, handed me my ticket, I signed and that was that.
Thrilling!

Used to listen to DCA back b4 trunked. There are times when it worth being
able to get them.
Put 868.2125 Mhz (MWAA's PCC) in my old hand-held and wondered around the
house. Definately could find the signal at various location in house.

FWIW - while in the car near King Farm in Rockville, I have received
transmissions on the BC396 from custodians at IAD (whoopie!). But as Steve
implies, it's like fishing or panning for gold or something like that... I
can't say that I've ever heard anything of interest.
