Ahhhh - interoperabilty at it's finest - at least it's most recent finest. In maryland this is done on a monthly basis, 1st wednesday of the month, for all of the hospitals on the 800 mhz hospital wide system. Each hospital is contacted and must indicate the same sort of thing about quality of transmission. If a hospital is missed after 3 calls, they will skip it and go on to the next, and it's always done in the same order. If the hospital still fails to respond it's marked down and the hospital administrator and/or contact person is given a phone call and a letter is generated as well. A friend of mine who used to work at Shady Grove hospital in their security dept told me about this. It's usally the hospital's secuity dept or emergency dept or their disaster liason person that would be the radio contact person. If I can dig up any paperwork on this I will forward same to the group.

Happy Listening.

Special attention to Al Henney....

I got this from ReCall this evening...
==================================
Today at 1:45PM a radio test for all Federal & State (Maryland, Va., DC) agency's was conducted. It was like the State all/call to the counties if you are familiar. Each agency was called and asked for a verification of signal quality. Below is a list of the Federal and State agencies that were called. I've never heard anything like this before, but with what's coming up the following week this may be the innerpolice frequency, 866.01250.

Federal : CIA, NSA , FBI... Main and mobile's, Federal Protective Service , US Marshals , US Coast Guard , White House Police.
State : MSP , PG Co. , DC .. Main and SWAT,, Va SP, Fairfax and Arlington
==================================

866.0125 is one of the 800 Mhz ITac freqs (old name: ICall new:8Call90). I recall seeing reports of these tests on 866.3625/39.62 (PMARS and low band translator, which should be included in the newsletter, Al) but this is the first time I've heard about this on the ICall freq.

ReCall is in Southern Maryland, so it would seem that the 8Call frequencies might bear some watching even if you aren't in the DC area. Perhaps they're starting to dust the repeaters off for Inauguration activity.
