As I'm sure most of you are aware, the Inauguration is going to be one very huge event in the DC area. In addition, something not done for many years is going to happen - The President and Vice President elects will be traveling by train and making stops along the way. This is a very good opportunity to put those new scanners that are milcom capable to good use. Likely as not there will be air coverage of some kind for the train trip, along with all the other security that will surround them. And as they finally leave for DC, air coverage will no doubt ramp up considerably.

In any case, we now have a temporary page on the Capitol Hill Monitors website with files for various applications. The URL is:

http://henney.com/chm/files/inaug09_milcom.html

Let me stress this is temporary . After the event is over, I expect this page will disappear. It contains files with data formatted with various applications;

a. Excel (creates .csv files, which are importable in LOTS of applications)
b. Scan Control (handles numerous Uniden scanners, and the PRO-2052. I don't have the GRE or RS object oriented scanners - support just started for these in version 7, so there aren't files for those...)
c. RadioMax (an old application that works well with the 895, but also with several older Icom and AOR models such as the PCR1000 and AOR8000- sorry not the PCR1500 or 2500)
d. BCTool (for the Uniden DMA Scanners)
e. FreeScan (ditto)

By no means should these files be considered complete. They are, however, a good start. Those files that have a .zip extension must be unzipped with WinZip or similar.

The .csv files are deliberately simple - alpha tag and frequency, that's it. Except for one frequency (156.175) all frequencies listed here should be programmed as AM (The 156 mhz freq should be in FM). You should use the web service to pull any other data from the database that you need. Both BCTool and FreeScan have this ability, and Scan Control uses it's 'Data Grabber' for copying and pasting.

The Scan Control files also have instructions as to how to upgrade the file from one radio to another.

73 and enjoy...Mike
