With another Inauguration just a scant month or so away, (and the massive interest the news media has described) I thought it might be useful - particularly for the newcomers among us - to review a few things for programming the digital scanners for this event. A digital scanner will be needed to copy the Metro PD 400 Mhz system - a Pro-97 or similar analog trunktracker won't cut it.
The various digital scanners are listed here (NOTE: anything in blue or underlined is a link)

A newsletter was published way back in 2005 (seems like a long time ago, doesn't it) with a ton of frequencies, much of which is still probably good. It's available in PDF format from;

We have a wiki article which details how to program the Uniden and RS scanners. Unfortunately this article was written before the coming of the GRE PSR-500 and 600 (not to mention the PRO-197 and PRO-106), so details for these scanners are badly needed

How to get files for your scanner is a very common question. That is answered here;

Currently we could use details for ARC996, ProScan, Trunkstar XLT and Elite, PSREdit500, Win500 and ARC500.
We'll repeat this again as we get closer to the date. 73 Mike
