"Alpha" designations are not used.  The first unit of a certain class is 
simply Medic 741.  Next in line is Medic 741 "Bravo," Medic 741 "Charlie," 
etc.

RS 741, RS 741 "Bravo"...

And so on...

BCC Rescue is 41, so the radio call signs are Ambulance or Medic 741 Alpha - 
Echo, the  squads are Rescue Squad 741, etc.

Wheaton rescue units are 42 and have 742 designations.

The BCC rescue ambulance at station 26 (that used to be called Ambulance or 
Medic 40) is now Amb or Medic 726.

It's still a little confusing sometimes, esp when I hear Amb 740, which is 
at station 40 - used to be A 408 or 409.
